The Pittsburgh Steelers are approaching the 2023 season with one goal in mind:
Super Bowl.
But if they are going to make good on their lofty standards, one unit will have to play much better. Yet, ESPN analyst Louis Riddick has his doubts:
Offensive Line

"I'm still scared because it's still a work in progress, it's really been their Achilles heel over the past two to three seasons," said Riddick on behalf of the Steelers offensive line via The Rich Eisen Show. "It's been the issue. They can't run the football, they can't protect the quarterback long enough so he has to get the ball out quick so they can't push the ball down the field, and are always in a second-and-long type of situations because they can't run the football."
"Is Broderick Jones gonna make that much of a difference? Is Okorafor at right tackle going to be that much better? Is James Daniels at right guard going to be that much better? I don't know, but in the AFC man…These other teams… the Baltimore's, Kansas City's, and Cincinnati's…they can run the rock."
And in fairness to Riddick, he is spot on with his trepidation about the Steelers as "sleepers." The NFL still comes down to who can run the ball and who can stop the run.
Despite all the modern upgrades and game-changing philosophies on offense, it's still a point-of-attack game. Meaning, can my big guy beat your big guy?
Steeler fans will soon find out.
