Former Dolphins, XFL RB ZaQuandre White to visit Steelers on Monday

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have an off day today, but becoming a better team is a never-ending process in the NFL.

That's because team building is a 24-7, 365 days a year process even when you think you have your ducks in a row.

But following yesterday's abrupt retirement, Pittsburgh suddenly has a spot to fill with one player seemingly getting the best opportunity:

When Monte Pottebaum decided it was time to hang up his cleats, Pittsburgh was suddenly a man short in the backfield, even if it was a longshot for Pottebaum or whoever replaces him to make the roster.

So White's path forward isn't an easy one, and that's assuming he nails the defacto job interview that will occur today. But as Mike Tomlin explained yesterday, this is the time of year when you need to give everyone a look because you never know where the next diamond in the rough lies.

So best of luck to White on his interview. Hopefully, if he signs a contract, he makes it longer than a week.
