Just because you're a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers 53-man roster doesn't mean you'll be playing on gameday, even if healthy.

That's because the NFL limits teams to 46 active players on game day.

So with the context clear, here are the inactives for today's matchup:

Steelers Inactive players:

  • QB Mason Rudolph (3rd)
  • OT Dylan Cook
  • RB Anthony McFarland Jr.
  • ILB Blake Martinez
  • CB Darius Rush
  • DT Montravius Adams

Cardinals Inactive players:

  • CB Antonio Hamilton
  • CB Starling Thomas
  • G Elijah Wilkinson
  • WR Michael Wilson
  • WR Zach Pascal
  • TE Blake Whiteheart

Observations:

After nearly a week and a half of practices, including full participation early in the week, it seemed as if starting NT Montavius Adams would finally return from his ankle injury.

But after being listed as limited in Friday's practice and noted as questionable for the game, it seems Adams has suffered a setback as he is officially out today.

Luckily for Pittsburgh, rookie Keeanu Benton has come on like gangbusters and will be starting in place of Adams once again.
