Jay Glazer, an NFL insider for Fox Sports, visited Pittsburgh Steelers training camp this week and left while making a strong statement about the team's ongoing quarterback battle.

For most of the preseason, it's been assumed that free agent addition Mitch Trubisky will be the Steelers' starting quarterback when they open the season against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 11.

A strong performance from rookie Kenny Pickett in the preseason opener, however, has some folks wondering if starting Trubisky would be the right move.

Right move or not, it appears that Trubisky winning the job has already happened.

At least according to Glazer.

"It's kind of interesting that people still think there might be a quarterback controversy here," said Glazer. "There's not. Mitch Trubisky, that's the guy. He'll be the starter here."

"They do love Kenny Pickett….but this will be Mitch Trubisky's team. You talk to people around here, they have so much confidence in him (Trubisky)."

"They certainly think they can win with Mitch Trubisky," added Glazer. "I think there's a lot of people out there rooting for Mitch Trubisky. This is Mitch's team. He'll be the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh this year, but they got their future also in Kenny Pickett."

This is pretty much what we all expected. Pickett's preseason performance was nice, but that's just a snapshot of his body of work this summer. Trubisky has the experience and the track record that Pittsburgh is looking for right now.

There's no doubt that Pickett is the future for the Steelers. But for now, as Glazer said, it's Mitch's team.
