For 22 consecutive seasons, the Pittsburgh Steelers have sent multiple players to the Pro Bowl. This year, edge rusher T.J. Watt and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick made the roster, their fourth and third selections respectively.

The Steelers have another stud on their defense, defensive tackle Cam Heyward. Per usual, along with the aforementioned Watt, Heyward has been an anchor on the Steelers' defensive front in 2022.

According to Pro Football Focus, Heyward's play this season makes him a Pro Bowl snub in the AFC.

Gordon McGuinness on Heyward:

"Even in his 12th season, Heyward remains one of the very best interior defensive linemen in the NFL. Through the first 15 weeks, he has the third-best overall grade at the position in the AFC (89.9), trailing only Kansas City's Chris Jones and New York's Quinnen Williams.

"This is only a minor snub, however. While he has a higher overall grade than Jeffery Simmons, Simmons does have a higher pass-rushing grade."

Heyward has certainly maintained the high level of play he's had for over a decade this season. His 62 tackles so far are the third-most of his career, and he's 1.5 sacks away from back-to-back double-digit campaigns in that category.

The former first-round pick is currently having his best stretch of the season. Over the last four games, Heyward has registered 20 tackles and 4.5 sacks, and more importantly, the Steelers have won three of them.

Heyward won't be in the Pro Bowl, but his two sacks against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday helped the Steelers honor Hall of Famer Franco Harris the right way after his passing earlier this week just days before the 50th anniversary of "The Immaculate Reception".

"Decades and decades will go on, but we still care for a man that brought so much to us," Heyward said. "We loved him. We will continue to love him and we appreciate all he’s done for us.”

That right there makes Heyward a Pro Bowler no matter what.
