Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward is already one of the best players in franchise history.
But it hasn't always been that way for Heyward.
Way back in 2011, Heyward was a rookie out of Ohio State with a lot to prove.
And one of the first chances he got to prove that he could be a key player for the Steelers, he fell on his face. Literally.
Listen to this story that Heyward told on The Pat McAfee Show this week.
I can feel the embarrassment. It doesn't matter if it was practice, a pre-season game, or a regular-season game — you never want to fall on your face in front of your teammates or your head coach (especially when it's Mike Tomlin).
Side note: That's a vintage Mike Tomlin reaction. 100 percent serious.
Things end up working out just fine for Heyward. He's been in the league for over a decade with the same team and he's reached five Pro-Bowls.
The only thing left to add now is a Super Bowl championship. Who knows, maybe the Steelers shock some people this year. You never know…
