The Pittsburgh Steelers received a positive report on Monday concerning one of their top players.
Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is looking for a new contract after watching nearly every other top-producing wide out from the 2019 draft class receive lucrative extensions this offseason.
AJ Brown, Terry McLaurin, DK Metcalf, and Deebo Samuel were all drafted in 2019 and they've all received extensions.
Johnson, however, is still waiting on his extension.
As a result, he's at training camp but he's not participating in practice.

On Monday, Aditi Kinkhabwala gave a report that should be encouraging to the Steelers and their fan base.
Kinkhabwala said on 93.7 The Fan that Johnson isn't looking to set records with his extension. Instead, he's looking for a deal that provides decent guaranteed money beyond the first year.
I've been back and forth on whether or not Johnson and Pittsburgh will get a deal done.
This report, however, makes me feel like a deal will get done.
Johnson wants to be in Pittsburgh. And he proved last year while playing with a soon-to-be-retired quarterback that he can be one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL. There's no reason for the Steelers to move on from Johnson if he's willing to be flexible with his contract demands.
We'll see where this goes, but I think Pittsburgh fans should feel optimistic that Johnson will be playing for the Steelers for the foreseeable future.
