Steelers could catch an L this weekend

For Pittsburgh Steelers fans, watching the playoffs without their team being there has probably been a weird experience. On the one hand, it sucks as much as it does for every NFL team that didn't make the tournament.
On the other, the future looks bright. The Steelers quickly found their quarterback in Kenny Pickett and have foundational pieces around the roster to be excited about.
So what if Pittsburgh didn't make it when their "rebuilding year" resulted in a winning record and they're set up for the future?
And yet, the Cincinnati Bengals kind of continue to spoil the party. The hated AFC North rival looks unbeatable at times. And even if they miss the Super Bowl this time around, Steelers fans know that Joe Burrow isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Pair that with the Baltimore Ravens who, provided they pay Lamar Jackson, are going to be good for a long, long time. Not to mention the Deshaun Watson-led Cleveland Browns could turn things around in 2023.
In other words, the Steelers are playing in one of the toughest divisions in football. And on Sunday, they could catch an L as Joe Burrow has the potential to bring down a cherished Ben Roethlisberger record with a win at Arrowhead Stadium.
With a win, Burrow would pass Big Ben and become the quarterback with the most playoff wins in his first three seasons. Currently, both are tied for second behind Russell Wilson.
And I know what you're thinking. Well, Burrow doesn't have a ring to show for it. Well, you're right. At least for now. Unless the heavily-nicknamed quarterback wins the Big One, there won't be much to brag about in terms of who did it best as a young guy in the league.
But there's no denying Steelers faithful probably feel some level of nerves about the future of the division.
The Steelers will have to get used to being the good ol' scrappy underdog for years to come unless they approach their team-building very aggressively to become favorites over one of the best-quarterbacked teams in the entire league.
