The Steelers are CONTENDERS in the AFC after the NFL Draft: Film Breakdown

In this film breakdown, we take a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers 2023 NFL Draft class, featuring some incredible picks that turn the Steelers into instant contenders in the AFC, in my opinion.

They took OT Broderick Jones in the 1st round, a great pick for the future of their offensive line, and a guy who has crazy upside. They followed that with CB Joey Porter Jr. and DT Keeanu Benton in the 2nd round, both great picks that fill voids in the Pittsburgh defense. They then added TE Darnell Washington, a freak athlete who is the best run blocking TE I've ever seen. LB Nick Herbig in the 4th round was another great selection, followed by CB Corey Trice and G Spencer Anderson. With these additions, I feel like the Steelers can absolutely contend in the AFC this season, assuming Kenny Pickett and Najee Harris take a step up themselves.

Round 1, Pick 14: OT Broderick Jones, Georgia (C+)

Round 2, Pick 32: CB Joey Porter Jr. (A)

Round 2 Pick 49: DL Keeanu Benton, Wisconsin (A+)

Round 3, Pick 93: TE Darnell Washington, Georgia (A)

Round 4, Pick 132: LB Nick Herbig, Wisconsin (A-)

Round 7, Pick 241: CB Cory Trice, Purdue (B+)

Round 7, Pick 251: G Spencer Anderson, Maryland (NA)
