The Steelers are coming off a season where they just missed the playoffs but still ended with a winning record. 

Rookie QB Kenny Pickett had an up-and-down year but showed flashes of being a franchise QB. 

Now the Steelers need to surround him with the right talent, so Pickett can take the second-year leap the organization hopes he will.

During the season, the Steelers traded wide receiver Chase Claypool to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a second-round pick. 

Due to the Bears ending with the worst record in the league and the Dolphins having to forfeit their first-round pick, the second-round pick the Bears traded is essentially a first-rounder. 

The Dolphins were forced to forfeit their 2023 first-round pick, meaning the first pick in the second round is now pick 32.

The Steelers also own their original first and second-round picks, meaning they will pick three times in the top 50. 

In 2021, Pittsburgh sent a 2023 fifth-round pick to the Seahawks for cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. 

The Steelers also traded for linebacker Malik Reed and a seventh-round pick in exchange for a sixth-round pick last August. 

The Steelers have set themselves up to make a big splash in this year's draft, and hopefully, this draft gets the organization back in the playoffs.
