After kicking things off with a bang in signing QB Russell Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers had gone radio silent in terms of big-name acquisitions.
Well, per Marcus Spears of ESPN, that has changed:
Patrick Queen Poached by Pittsburgh
First drafted by the Ravens out of LSU in 2020, Queen is the type of player that fits exactly what Pittsburgh wants out of their inside linebackers, with range, downhill speed, and physicality.
A little bit of a freelancer before the arrival of Roquan Smith, Queen is coming off his best season as a pro, recording 133 tackles, six pass breakups, and 3.5 sacks, while earning Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors in 2023
So with starting LB Cole Holcomb likely to miss the start of the season as he rehabs a knee injury and other inside LB Elandon Roberts headed into the final year of his deal, signing a scheme fit that is only 24 years old makes perfect sense for the team.
