The Pittsburgh Steelers already have 91 players on their offseason roster with training camp a little over one month away, but there's potential interest in adding another veteran to the mix.
Free agent linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski was at Steelers minicamp this week to workout with the team, per Mark Kaboly of The Athletic.
Kwiatkoski is entering his eighth year in the league at 30 years of age. He last played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2022, appearing in 12 games exclusively as a special teams contributor. Prior to last season, he started in 34 career games for the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders.
The Bears selected him in the fourth round pick of the 2016 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, but the former Mountaineer's origins take even closer to the Steelers. Kwiatkoski hails from Bethel Park, PA, mere miles south of downtown Pittsburgh.
Kwiatkoski coming back home to the area he grew up in would be ideal for the long-time veteran looking to still make an impact. Pittsburgh has revamped their linebacking corps, and could use the help on special teams as well.
