Steelers Week 14 Injury Report (Fri)
Observations
- George Pickens: Popping up on the injury report for the first time all season, it's not a good sign for Pickens, though the fact he spoke to the media on Friday is a potential good omen for his questionable status come Sunday. With all the drama that has surrounded Pickens lately, hopefully, it's a sign for him to shape up and stay focused on the task at hand
- Calvin Austin III: After suffering a concussion against the Cincinnati Bengals, and missing the end of the game, Austin was placed into the protocol. His limited availability is an encouraging sign for a player that has come to life in the third year of his Steelers tenure. On Thursday and Friday, Austin was a full participant and is good to go for Sunday
- Cory Trice Jr.: The Steelers felt Trice was ready after multiple weeks of full practice participation, and he is set to return against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday after officially being activated off the injured reserve on Thursday.
- Alex Highsmith: Highsmith said that he was feeling better earlier in the week and Coach Tomlin told the media on Tuesday that he expected Highsmith to be ready for Sunday, but you would like to see him log a full participation before feeling strongly about his availability. On Thursday, Highsmith logged his first full participation status in some time and he's off the injury report heading into Sunday
- Montravius Adams: Adams could have also made his return this week, with Coach Tomlin saying practice participation will be the team's guide for his return, but it seems the team will wait another week before bringing him back, as he's officially out for Sunday
