If you watched the Pittsburgh Steelers get dismantled on Sunday, then perhaps you know that poor QB play was part of the issue.
Now the game got even worse when Kenny Pickett left with an injury, as the Texans put the nail in the coffin.
But it wasn't exactly great during the game, something that just became official:
Pickett Is Dead Last in Success Rate
Now if you are wondering exactly what this means or how much stock to put into this finding, it's easy to explain. The name of the metric: Success Rate, tells you all you need to know.
Basically, when a QB drops back to pass, the metric evaluates how successful they are (completions, first downs, touchdowns,) compared to what was there to be had.
Unfortunately, the stat means that despite the ineptitude of Matt Canada and the offense's structure, when there are plays to be made, Pickett is missing them.
Now the context matters of course, as Pickett isn't exactly in a position to succeed. Nonetheless, you never want to rank last in any category as a QB, meaning there is work to be done by everyone involved.
