The Pittsburgh Steelers bye week is over and the squad was back to work today.
Holding a Monday practice, we received some big news on the status of a few players on injured reserve.
But following practice, we heard even more good news on behalf of multiple starters:
Pat Freiermuth, DeMarvin Leal, Dan Moore All Back
Starting tight end Pat Freiermuth was back on the field today, practicing for the first time since his hamstring injury in early October. The initial timetable was said to sideline him for two to three weeks. When asked about how he's feeling, Freiermuth said:
“I feel good, I’m good to go this week; excited to get back out there and play.”
As for defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal, he has cleared concussion protocol and will be able to practice this week.
As far as the incumbent starter at left tackle, Dan Moore was also back at practice following his MCL sprain.
“Yeah, I was a little bit limited still, but feeling good,” Moore told reporters.
When we get the first official report of the week on Wednesday, it will be interesting to see how Pittsburgh lists these three and others, as well as who takes the majority of first-team reps at left tackle, since rookie Broderick Jones was filling in for Moore while he was out.
Steelers open 21-day practice window for Diontae Johnson, Anthony McFarland
Here is the latest on the status of Johnson as he returns from injury.
