Arguably the best coach in the league when it comes to working the podium, Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is one of a kind on the mic.

Often known for his Tomlinisms, Coach T has mentioned on many occasions that he and the Steelers don't listen to "outside noise" or "concern themseves with the Joneses."

Well, it seems the fodder has gotten so loud in Pittsburgh, that is no longer the case:

"We're Man Enough To Absorb That Negativity"

"Man, I think that we have talked about this a lot, haven't we?" Coach T told the media when asked about the state of the offense. "We can get better in all areas, and those are our intentions. Whether it's strategy or schematics, whether it's how we divide the labor up our technique relative to our positions, and that's been our agenda. We realize that we've absorbed some negativity based on performance. We're man enough to absorb that negativity and stay singularly focused on what's required to change it, and that is work. We're not interested in assigning blame or making excuses. We're just singularly focused on getting better, and we're going to continue to do that, and this Sunday is an opportunity to show progress in that regard."

You can say a lot of things about Coach T, but one thing that has always been a staple in his personality is unapologetically telling you what he thinks, or how he feels.

I know a lot of players and coaches say they don't pay attention to the media, or they don't absorb what's being said, but that's practically impossible in the modern world.

Unless you adopt an Amish lifestyle, you are going to hear what people are saying when working in the league. That's especially true when your a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, with "Fire Canada" being chanted at Hockey games, and written on signs at wrestling events and even other NFL Games:

So the criticism is unavoidable at this point, although the bye week and win over the Ravesn likely cooled off some of the hotter heads. As Coach T articulated, it will take a collective effort to get the offense going in the direction they want, hopefully, starting as soon as this sunday in LA.
