The Pittsburgh Steelers signed a player this week that has thrown hands before with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
Linebacker Patrick Queen, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, signed a three-year deal with the Steelers earlier this week.
Queen remains in the AFC North where he'll continue to terrorize Burrow, his former college teammate at LSU.
The two division rivals won a national championship together at LSU. And they're still close friends. But they also once had a run-in with each other at an LSU practice.
Queen has told the story a couple of times, including once last fall during an appearance on The Punch Line Podcast.
"They (LSU's offense) were lighting us up play after play," said Queen. "Then we started getting stops and it got heated. Hot summer day in Louisiana. And we just started blitzing to get Joe off his spot and a couple of us hit him a couple of times. I hit him one more time. And one thing led to another. The next thing you know we're on the sideline and I've got him in a headlock and he's punching my ribs."
Queen added that he hasn't had a chance to hit Burrow much in the NFL, but he's looking forward to the moment when he does get to lay a hit on his former teammate.
"If I do get the chance to touch him, I'm definitely going to tell him a couple of things," said Queen.
It's all love off the field between Queen and Burrow. But on the field, the two former LSU standouts are AFC North division rivals. And neither player is afraid to go all out against each other — to the point of throwing a punch of two if necessary.
Queen's decision to stay in the AFC North means he'll have plenty of chances over the next few years to lay some hits on Burrow.

Burrow appeared on the Full Send Podcast last week and he threw some shade at the Baltimore Ravens. “I love playing the Ravens because they talk,” said Burrow. “They talk. I love that…[The score] was a lot […]
