Biggest Games on the Steelers' 2025 Schedule
Steelers vs. Vikings: For the first time ever, the NFL will play a regular-season game in the land of green, with two playoff teams from 2024 via the Vikings and Steelers. It should be a fun one.
Steelers at Jets: Opening the season on the road, against your former starting quarterback is a storyline in itself. Add in the fact that should Aaron Rodgers sign, he will be facing his former team, and this game will be talked about for weeks leading up to Sunday's kickoff.
Steelers vs. Packers: Another chance for should-be starter Aaron Rodgers to get back at his old team, this game would be a prime fixture regardless, due to the history and lore of the franchises, but the potential of Rodgers only elevates things.
Primetime Games and Streaming Service Broadcasts
Which games will be primetime viewing?
When you have one of the most iconic franchises in all of sports, even with their questions at quarterback, you're going to see a good amount of primetime games. Here's the marquee matchups as the league views them in May…
Week 7: vs. Bengals (TNF)
Week 8: vs. Green Bay Packers (SNF)
Week 10: at Los Angeles Chargers (SNF)
Week 15: vs. Miami Dolphins (MNF
Which games will you need streaming services to watch?
The new age of broadcasting includes an increase in streaming providers opposed to legacy media. Recent years have seen the inception of Amazon Prime, Peacock, and this year, YouTube. Here's the games where the Steelers will be streamed…
- Week 7: vs. Bengals (Amazon Prime Video)
Strength of Schedule (based on Vegas win totals, not the 2024 record)
Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis ranks teams' strength of schedule based on Vegas' projected win totals for the upcoming season. This year, Sharp has the Steelers' SOS at the 24th, which means they've actually got the ninth-toughest schedule in the NFL this season. That's part of the reason why they are projected to have 8.5 wins.

Revenge Games on the Steelers' 2025 schedule
- Steelers vs. Ravens: I know these teams play twice a year, every year, but the last time the Steelers played Baltimore, they were bludgeoned for over 300 rushing yards. The team went all in this offseason on making sure that doesn't happen again.
- Steelers at Jets: The return of Aaron Rodgers to New York, on top of Justin Fields against his former team, will be pure theater if Rodgers decides to stop taking his long walks on the beach and head to Pittsburgh.
- Steelers vs. Seahawks: DK Metcalf may have been the one to request a trade out of Seattle, but he will surely be motivated to make an impact against the team that drafted him.
- Steelers at Chargers: The Steelers let both Najee Harris and Donte Jackson walk in free agency, and they both joined the Chargers. Expect Harris to be motivated.
- Steelers vs. Browns: The surefire revenge game would be Juan Thornhill taking on his former team, but there is a shot that Kenny Pickett is the starter for the Browns, which would be quite a scene.
5 Must-watch Matchups
- T.J. Watt vs. Justin Fields: Watt cornering the edge and attempting to sack the man he was never allowed to touch while they played together would be a sight
- DK Metcalf vs. Devon Witherspoon: Witherspoon burst onto the scene his rookie year as one of the better corners in the league. Metcalf will attempt to show him what he's missing on offense.
- Steelers' defense vs. Najee Harris: Harris was unafraid to let his qualms with the Steelers organization be known when he left for Los Angeles. I'm sure the defense won't forget that when game week rolls around.
- Steelers 'defense vs. Kenny Pickett?: Who knows how the Browns quarterback situation will play out, but I would love to live in the world where Kenny Pickett faces the Steelers defense.
- Kaleb Johnson vs. Ravens' defense: A rookie running back receiving his welcome to the NFL moment against the team's bitter rival will be a major talking point.
