It's been three games since the Pittsburgh Steelers lost Alex Highsmith to an ankle injury against the Washington Commanders.
And while there was a chance that he would return against the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday, the team exercised caution with their star defender.
That caution may be going to the wind this week:
Mike Tomlin expects Alex Highsmith to return vs. Browns
"From a health standpoint, a couple things of note… fully expect Alex Highsmith to be available to us this week, said Tomlin on Tuesday. "We got some other guys that might position themselves for the consideration as well. Cory Trice, Montravius Adams. Calvin Austin is in the concussion protocol, and so we'll follow the medical experts there and let them provide us with appropriate information about where he is and what the prospects of his participation might be based on that."
With what we have seen from Nick Herbig and Preston Smith in Highsmith's absence, it's going to be a massive boost for one the best pass-rushing units in the league. As Coach Tomlin would later add, you can never have enough rushmen, and Pittsburgh will be looking forward to Highsmith's services against the Cleveland Browns.
