The Pittsburgh Steelers attacked the first half of the season with an intensity that hadn't been seen in some time from the group.

Sitting at 6-2 after three straight wins, the team sits alone atop the AFC North heading into their bye week.

And that's a good thing when analyzing what's coming down the pike:

A stretch of games that will tell everyone just how good this team can be.

Alex Highsmith Ready For Stacked Second Half of Season

"It’s definitely the first time since I’ve been here that we haven’t played a divisional team throughout these first eight games of the season," Highsmith said when asked about every divisional game coming after the bye. "We definitely can’t wait for those on the back end. We know we’ve got a lot of them. It’s the AFC North, and we know that every game from here on out is gonna be a tough game. It starts in Washington in a couple weeks. But we’re definitely ready for some AFC North ball, for sure.”

Not only do the Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Baltimore Ravens (who just added a former Steeler WR) two times each, but they have dates with wagons like the Commanders, Eagles, and of course, the back-to-back champions, Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.

Luckily for the Steelers, they have seen the emergence of QB Russell Wilson in the last two weeks, along with an offensive explosion that hasn't been seen since the end of Ben Roethlisberger's prime.

The next step for Pittsburgh, and especially against the upcoming set of opponents is to start fast. The team has outscored opponents 53-0 in the third quarter, but the New York Jets and Giants game saw them going into halftime with 15 points combined.

So if the Steelers are going to show that they are contenders and not pretenders, starting fast down the stretch and winning 11-12 games is next up on the agenda.
