The Steelers are far from the only team dealing with injuries to star players

While Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes seems to be as bionic as ever with his ankle, the same can't be said for the Chiefs' best defender.

That would be Chris Jones who heads into the game as questionable against Pittsburgh:

Chiefs could be without Chris Jones against Steelers

There is no understanding of how big of a game-changer Jones is. While Steelers rookie center Zach Frazier has stepped in and played at a high level given his lack of experience, facing the best interior defensive lineman in the league and a future first-ballot Hall of Famer is a different level of difficulty.

The Chiefs will undoubtedly have star QB Patrick Mahomes however, who despite suffering an awkward ankle injury against the Cleveland Browns, didn't miss a beat last week against the Houston Texans and will play in what is sure to be close to 100% against the Steelers.

"I feel good. I mean, obviously, we haven’t done a ton as far as getting out there on the practice field. We’ve done some walk – a walk-through, well actually two walk-throughs now," Mahomes told reporters on Monday. "I feel like I can move around and then do what I need to do, and now we’ll get to get to a little bit faster-paced practice and see where I’m truly at. I thought all-in-all I came out pretty well…

"…I think I’ll be in a better place ankle-wise. I mean, obviously the body’s going to be sore with the short week and everything like that, but I think the ankle should be in a better place," he added. "Obviously, we’ll see at practice today. As far as how I felt after this game compared to the one before, I’m definitely in a lot better place.”
