There is an unraveling hitting the Pittsburgh Steelers that we have seldom, if ever seen before.

It goes beyond the product on the field, which included five straight losses to close the season.

Problems within the locker room are starting to seep out and others aren't afraid to let their true feelings be known about the coaching staff…

Cordarrelle Patterson unhappy with playing time

"Guess I’ll shovel snow since I can’t touch the field,” Patterson said in a since-expired Instagram story. He would then add that his haters call him washed, but he's loading up for next season, though that is far from likely to be in Pittsburgh as he is set to be a free agent.

But Patterson wasn't alone in some of his public questioning of the Steelers coaching staff, with Najee Harris making headlines for saying that players have different feelings behind closed doors.

"Really something that we talked about on the team that I feel like we need to do, [is] really just staying together as a team, not listening too much of the outside noise and the outside attention," Harris said after the game on Saturday. "That's the fastest way to break up a team…

"…I think that's what really [happened], paying attention too much of what the media say rather than just doing what we gotta do. And I think that's one of the main things I feel like we could help us out, you know? 'Cause it's gonna be tough. There's gonna be times when you have faced some adversity. But the way you answer it is all that matters."

Questions of effort in the game against the Baltimore Ravens were first raised by analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who called out the obvious dull feeling that came through this screen.

"Where the hell is the fight?! This is the Pittsburgh Steelers! There's nothing! They're just going through the motions," said Herbstreit during the Amazon Prime broadcast.

Patrick Queen, who is the team's defensive signal caller, and highest-paid free agent in franchise history, even came under fire for his effort against his former team.

So much so that he rightfully had someone in his camp tell the media that he was dealing with a bad case of the flu

So whether it's Patterson, Najee, or Queen, there is something wrong with the core of this team right now. There is a lack of buy in, which is frankly concerning and could reopen the trade talks of HC Mike Tomlin because this is far from Pittsburgh Steelers football.
