Pittsburgh is one of the most historic football towns in the country.

Not just professionally with the Steelers, but at the college level with Pitt and the surrounding high schools in the area.

Well, Pittsburgh legend and NFL icon Damar Hamlin already has two scratched off his list, and now would like a third:

Hamlin to Pittsburgh?

“(Playing an NFL game in Pittsburgh is) definitely off the bucket list,” Hamlin told reporters at an offseason event. “I always wanted to come back into this stadium as a pro, play in front of the home city. Last year was super fun in Buffalo. People talking stuff all week. Even my friends, they’re diehard Steeler fans. So they love us all year, but when we play the Steelers, they can choose sides. But it’s all love on both sides…

"…I think ending my career, finishing, as a Pittsburgh Steeler would be a dream. I played at Pitt so you know I was in the stadium. I played at Heinz Field probably for like eight years straight between WPIAL championships and Pitt so a dream come true would be finishing my career as a Steeler."

Hamlin isn't slated to hit free agency until 2025, and he's mostly a special teamer, but he holds one of the more remarkable stories in NFL history as he came back from cardiac arrest that he suffered during a Monday night game in 2022. And we know how much Pittsburgh's front office and coaching staff value relationships, making Hamlin's dream an attainable one in the near future.
