Dan Moore Jr. signs massive deal with Tennessee Titans

The Titans are loading up on the offensive line, agreeing to terms with Steelers LT Dan Moore on a 4-year, $82M deal with $50M guaranteed and $30M in Year 1, sources say. The deal done by Jeff Nalley of CAA is the biggest for a tackle thus far.

The first three years of Dan Moore Jr.’s career in Pittsburgh were marred by bad PFF grades and constant criticism from fans. But in year four, Moore settled in nicely, only having his name mentioned against Myles Garrett and Trey Hendrickson, two of the top five pass rushers in the league.

Moore was always going to be a sneaky name to watch in terms of free agent money, but when some of the top tackles like Ronnie Stanley never made it to Monday, his market exploded, and he became one of the best options out there. Don’t expect him to be a franchise tackle, but with suitable guard play to his right, he can be a serviceable starter.

And that's exactly what happened. Dan Moore Jr. now plays next to Peter Skoronski, who by all accounts can be one of the best guards in the league if and when he reaches his full potential.

The plan now is for Broderick Jones to go to left tackle and last year's highly anticipated rookie, Troy Fautanu to settle in at RT as he comes back from an early-season knee injury.

And while Moore's market was always going to be hot, paying him over $20m, when he struggles on a game-by-game basis against the Cleveland Browns and Myles Garrett, who isn't going anywhere, probably wasn't the best idea.

But good for Dan Moore Jr. A player who received a ton of criticism has found himself going from fourth-round pick to one of the higher-paid tackles in the league. He's got a lot to be proud of.
