Despite being heavy underdogs as they approach gameday in Buffalo, the Pittsburgh Steelers believe they can win and keep their improbable run going. 

But it won't be just self-confidence that gives Pittsburgh hope on Sunday. 

A closer look shows Pittsburgh has history on their side when it comes to playoff games against the Bills:

Now, I'm well aware that 1974 and 1995 were a long time ago in terms of football and the leagues "What have you done for me lately nature," but history has a tendency to repeat itself both in reality and in the world of professional football. 

So as hot as the Bills are after winning five in a row, the Steelers are a close second, winners of their lost three and riding a high of momentum and underdog swagger into the postseason. 

If the 2023 regular season showed us anything, it's that the NFL has two dominant teams via the Ravens and 49ers, but that it's largely up in the air after that. 

We'll see if Pittsburgh can continue the trend of parody in the league and prove history right on Sunday afternoon.
