The Pittsburgh Steelers were already shorthanded at LB following the season-ending injury to Cole Holcomb.

Pittsburgh's depth at LB was once a luxury, then turned into a necessity, and following the team's latest injury, the position may now become a liability.

Here is the latest on the linebacker position, and the status of others from Coach Tomlin following a 23-19 win vs. the Packers.

Steelers Postgame Injury Update

  • LB Kwon Alexander: Alexander left the game on the first defensive series for Pittsburgh with a leg injury. He went into the medical tent and then the locker room following the contusion and was listed as questionable for the rest of the first quarter before eventually being ruled out midway through the second quarter. Coach Tomlin told reporters after the game that Alexander: "Has a serious lower-body injury, not promising there." It was then reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter that Alexander suffered a season-ending Achilles Injury.
  • S Keanu Neal: Neal had a huge interception late in the game that would give them the ball back ahead of the two-minute warning, but he left the field wobbly after the attempted interception return. On behalf of his health, Coach Tomlin told reporters that Neal: "Has a rib injury that will be assessed."
  • TE Connor Heyward: Heyward was seen limping off the field late in the game. Coach Tomlin didn't have anything to add though.
  • WR Diontae Johnson: It was tough to see Johnson sustain any injury but he had a "thumb injury" according to coach T, although he returned to the game and it was viewed as insignificant.
