Pittsburgh Steelers could use Aaron Rodgers as a part of a recruiting pitch for his former teammate and two-time Pro Bowler
While the Pittsburgh Steelers addressed the CB position in free agency via the Darius Slay signing, they still have a ways to go. That includes the NFL Draft, where finding more depth and a future starter alongside Joey Porter Jr. should be a priority. Well, they might not have to wait until the draft, and […]

Well, they might not have to wait until the draft, and they could use the help of Aaron Rodgers to net what would be a steal at corner…
Steelers named team to watch for Jaire Alexander Trade
The Green Bay Packers are open to moving on from cornerback Jaire Alexander. The former All-Pro defensive back has suffered multiple injuries over the past four years, and that combined with his contract is the big reason why the Packers are considering the move—and also why it's not that obvious that they will get reasonable compensation for him.
The Steelers have a solid long-term cornerback in Joey Porter Jr. and have just added a veteran in Darius Slay. Jaire would give them more flexibility and high-level potential. Also, the Steelers look open to making big-time moves this offseason after acquiring wide receiver DK Metcalf.Jaire knows quarterback Aaron Rodgers really well, and they had a good relationship back when Rodgers was with the Packers. Pittsburgh has $32.1 million in cap space.

There was a time not so long ago when Jaire Alexander was in the running for best CB in the league. A Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro who started every game he played in 2022, Alexander has played in a total of 14 games the last two seasons, but it wasn't always because of injury that he wasn't suited up.
Despite practicing in full capacities, Alexander was still inactive down the stretch of last season for the Green Bay Packers, with many seeing the writing on the wall back then.
But at only 28 years old and with ties to Aaron Rodgers, there is reason to believe he and the Steelers could be an excellent pairing.
We know how much Aaron Rodgers likes to recruit former teammates and friends to his new teams (see the New York Jets 2023 and 2024 rosters).
Only this pitch might actually work because it would be on the Steelers' terms.
