'He didn’t do anything for three-and-a-half quarters' – Giants OL tries to belittle Steelers' T.J. Watt

Every player in the NFL has an omnipresent competitiveness that exudes from their personality.
It's frankly impossible to play the sport at the level required if you don't believe you are better than your opponent, no matter who you face.
But once said opponent puts you in your place, it's probably best to just go on about your season and leave what you said in the past.
Instead, New York Giants OT Jermaine Eluemunor decided to double down on head-catching comments after getting his lunch money taken by Pittsburgh Steelers' T.J. Watt:
Eluemunor Speaks on Watt Yet Again
"I was on an island with him [Watt] for a majority of the game. And he didn’t do a damn thing. I'm not gonna sit here and fricking sing his praises," Eluemunor told WFAN in New York on Tuesday. “I’m not gonna sit here and fricking hype him up when you can go watch the tape and see what he did all night. He didn’t do anything for three-and-a-half quarters and he had one impact play.”
Well, as a pass rusher, if you have one impact play a game, especially when that impact play is a strip sack fumble recovery, you're on pace for the Hall of Fame. But apparently that doesn't matter to Eluemunor and his P.R. team, as allowing him to even do an interview after that game is a questionable move.
No one is saying he lacks the talent to be a starting tackle in the league, but when you call out a player of Watt's caliber earlier in the week, lose said battle and the game and then do a radio hit as your team sits at 2-6, trying to defend your stance, it reeks of no self-awareness.
"I love it. I've been telling you, I'm the most confident guy in this locker room," Elumenor told Giants reporters before the game when asked about playing Watt. "I think you can see that through my play this year. I want to be on an island with him all day."
Eluemunor got exactly what he wished for, it just didn't turn out the way he hoped.

He played with fire, and he got burnt.
