Teams across the NFL protect their draft boards with their life (unless you're Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys).
But with the development of media, technology, and branding, the draft weekend has become a content goldmine for all 32 teams.
Part of that content is a look inside the draft room, with a New York Jets camera capturing what almost was the selection of Pittsburgh Steelers WR Roman Wilson:
Jets almost drafted Roman Wilson
The video shows how New York Jets GM Joe Douglas was busy working the phones to trade up for what eventually would become their pick in WR Malachi Corley. But as we know with the draft, it takes two to tango, and finding a trade partner is a lot harder than it seems.
So it worked out for both sides, but had the Panthers decided not to make a deal with the New York Jets, there is a real chance Roman Wilson, a selection Pittsburgh is being praised for, is in Jets green as opposed to the black and yellow.

Pittsburgh was pleased to see Wilson fall to them, as they thought he was in the mix at 51, the pick the team would ultimately use on center Zach Frazier, who they never thought would be there.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were ready to select Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson with the 51st selection in round two last night, that was until Zach Frazier fell in their laps. The team never expected the West Virginia center to last that long and when he did, it was a no-brainer. Fortunately for them, Wilson, whom they view through the lens of Hines Ward, fell to their selection in the third round.

Steelers’ Omar Khan does his best to keep trade talks a secret on national TV
If we know anything about GMs in the NFL, it's that being a master manipulator is part of their job description. It may not be as important as roster construction or salary cap management, but knowing what to say, and how to say it is vital And for the Pittsburgh Steelers, GM Omar Khan is […]
