It would have taken an upset of massive proportions, but Steelers rookie Joey Porter Jr. will not be winning DROY at 2024 NFL Honors:

Even still, the nominee should be proud of what he accomplished in year one, while left wondering what could have happened if he had started since Week one:

No DROY For JPJ

Porter Jr. didn't make his first start until after the Week 6 bye, holding down the fort against Cooper Kupp and the majority of the WRs he matched up against for the duration of the season.

But between Pittsburgh working hin in slowly over the first five weeks and the lack of significant stats in his season totals, it was unlikely that Porter Jr. would take home any hardware on Thursday night.

But Peezy Jr. did win Steelers Rookie of the Year, something his father never accomplished, along with earning an overall nomination that is just the brink of the iceberg in terms of what he can be in this league.
