Pickett told reporters earlier this week that he checked the protection (as I displayed above) but that he also changed Pickens's route to the go ball that exposed the Cover 0 look the Ravens were in.
Well, according to Matt Canada, that's not how it went it down:
So, maybe it's just a simple mixup or a misunderstanding. Regardless, the play was called, executed, and led to a Steelers victory. In the end, it's the results that matter, not the semantics of how they happened.
And with the bye week now here, hopefully, that just creates even more opportunities for checks, audibles, and communication between the trio of Canada, Pickett, and the rest of the offense.
