While there is plenty of chatter outside of the building on who will be quarterbacking the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024, there is a belief in Pickett among his teammates inside the building.

Knowing him better than anyone who's throwing names in a hat to be Pittsburgh’s next signal caller, the players have a clear take on who they want to start in 2024.

But in case you didn't know, future Hall of Fame CB Patrick Peterson made that clear:

Kenny's Team

"I think Kenny Pickett will have the opportunity to really reap the fruits of this labor," said Peterson on the latest episode of his podcast All Things Covered. "Having Arthur coming in there, having kind of like the same athletic attributes, a mobile quarterback, a guy who likes to throw the ball on the run, who can throw the ball on the run. But also having a running back and a running committee that’s able to make his game a little bit easier. I’m excited about the hire.”

But with the hiring of Smith comes the idea that Pittsburgh may bring in one of his former players via Titans free agent QB Ryan Tannehill.

That's fine by Peterson, as long as Tannehill knows his place:

"You have to understand if you are coming into this situation, that Kenny Pickett is the guy,” Peterson added.

So we'll see if Peterson's comments carry weight. He has to focus about his own job status right now, as he would go on to admit that he wants to stay in Pittsburgh, but isn't sure if the feeling is mutual.

Nonetheless, it's a bode of confidence for Pickett, who can use all the support he can get.
