Steelers' Kenny Pickett sticks around after practice to sign autographs

The job description of the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers goes far beyond what happens on the field or in the meeting room.

A pillar in the community and the face of one of the most storied franchises in all of team sports, to much is given, much is expected.

And if post-practice in Latrobe proves anything, Kenny Pickett is fully embracing his duty:

Kenny Pickett Signs Autographs Well Into The Evening

Many may think such a simple task is commonplace in the NFL, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Having been at multiple camps in person, I can assure you players don't have to sign anything, and they surely don't have to do it in the manner that Pickett is:

The last time Tommy Maddox was the starter for the Steelers was 2003, the year "Big Ben" was drafted, and 20 years ago this camp. Many of you have seen our man Baku's Twitter clips in my post-practice reports, as he becomes one of the more credible videographers at Steelers camp.

And anyone who has followed Pickett since his time with the Pitt Panthers understands this is a player that knows where his bread is buttered. He may have been born in New Jersey, but Pittsburgh might as well have adopted the 25-year-old, seeing as he's been making fans in the 412 smile since he was a teenager.

In the end, how fondly Steelers fans look back on the Kenny Pickett era will be based on his play on the field. The expectations inside the building rival those in the city and throughout the world. As Mike Tomlin often relays to his players:

"The standard is the standard."

But if Pickett's passion on the field rivals his actions with fans, Pittsburgh is in good hands.
