The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't the only ones making big trades on Tuesday, as the team's upcoming opponent, the Washington Commanders made the trade of the day:
Suddenly, George Pickens' Sunday slate may be a little harder:
Pickens vs. Lattimore on Sunday?
In a battle of division leaders, the Steelers will travel to the DMV to take on a red-hot Commanders team. The eruption of rookie QB Jayden Daniels has propelled the team to their best start in years and has instilled a confidence aong the Washington brass, hence the move for arguably the best player on the trade block.
A four-time Pro Bowler who is still in his prime at 28 years old, the move for Lattimore signals the changing of the guard in New Orleans following the firing of HC Dennis Allen earlier in the week and the trade of a player who was arguably their best.
But there's a chance that Pickens and the Steelers don't have to deal with Lattimore, as the star CB has been dealing with a hamstring injury, though as we saw with Davante Adams when he played the Steelers, those injuries seem to suddenly clear up once a change of scenery occurs.
Lattimore is dealing with a hamstring injury for the second time this season, and he did not practice any last week. If he can suit up, it will definitely be a battle. Latt always amps up against top-flight WR talent, especially if they’re more emotional players. I’d say Pickens would go in both of those categories as an emerging young receiver. Hopefully, Lattimore can suit up because everyone will want to see the two battle in Week 10.
