In his first media presser of the offseason, Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin was bombarded with questions about Aaron Rodgers.

What's taking so long? What's the deadline? How was the visit?

But one question revolved around what happens if the team doesn't get Aaron Rodgers. You know the team's plan B.

Well, it seems the Steelers don't have a plan B, or A, or C, for that matter…

Steelers don't have a tier of options at Quarterback

"I don't know if we are identifying anything as plan A, plan B or plan C," Mike Tomlin the local media on Sunday at the annual NFL owners meetings. "We're just simply looking at the field of available people, whether it's FA or the draft and making decisions and gathering info accordingly…

"…We're still evaluating the acquisition of a guy at the position, whether it's free agency and/or the draft, and so we're doing our due diligence communicating with some free agents. Also preparing for the draft.”

The truth is, the Steelers are all in on Aaron Rodgers. All their chips are in the middle of the table. They really don't have much of a contingency plan or plan B outside of an off-the-wall trade, drafting a rookie quarterback and of course, Mason Rudolph.

The other team still needing a quarterback right now is the Steelers, who have the No. 21 pick in the draft. If they don’t land Aaron Rodgers, they’ll likely be interested in Cousins. They also seemingly have their eye on Milroe at 21, and if they draft him, Cousins would have to decide if that’s the right spot for him. He could also wait until a quarterback gets injured and needs a starter. In that case, a team would probably be willing to pay the Falcons a sizable chunk of his salary.

“We're optimistic about the room that we're constructing," Tomlin added on Sunday. "Obviously, we're excited about having Mason Rudolph back. But certainly we're going to continue to explore all our options in terms of rounding that room out.”

So it's all up to Aaron Rodgers, the same way it has been, and likely will be, as there is no timetable for his decision, and the Steelers simply are beholden to whatever he decides.

Only then, will we know who will start at quarterback for the Steelers in 2025.
