Najee Harris has never been one to talk to the media.

Skipping multiple postgame sessions after losses incurred by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Harris isn't the biggest fan of questions.

That has been especially true since the team declined his fifth-year option, with Harris unwilling to speak throughout offseason activities.

And while it was unexpected and away from a football field, a boxing match led Harris to open up a little.

Harris Talks Steelers @ Masvidal vs. Diaz

"Feeling good man," Najee Harris told Sibley Scoles of Dazn Boxing. "We [Pittsburgh Steelers] did good this offseason. Obviously, we picked up our two quarterbacks so we are excited about it. We think we're gonna have a lot of good things happening this year."

Harris is seemingly in good spirits and high on the potential of the Steelers with that comment, even if the team is edging closer to letting him test free agency come the end of the upcoming season.

GM Omar Khan has been candid about Harris potentially signing an extension, but as we creep closer to the start of the season, that quote may slowly fade into the bin of all other GM speak.

"It was a business decision that we had to make by… I think it was May 2nd," Khan told 93.7 The Fan when asked about the decision to decline Harris' option. "But Najee is awesome to have around here. Love Najee as a player and a person. And just because we didn't pick it up, it doesn't exclude us from doing something with Najee for long term. You know, I'd love to say that Najee had a long career in Pittsburgh. He really represents us well on the field and off the field. But it was just one of those things that we had to make a decision on, and we just felt right now that was the right decision for everyone. But I love Najee and would love to have him here long term."

It appears that many around the NFL would have also declined Harris' option had they been in Khan's shoes, as Harris was left off the top 10 list of RBs, and the group of honorable mentions by a contingent of executives, coaches, and scouts.

So while Harris is certainly positive here, I expect a motivated player to show up to training camp in two weeks.
