The Pittsburgh Steelers' fears surrounding center Nate Herbig have come true.

Per the team, Pittsburgh has officially placed center Nate Herbig on injured reserve.

The Steelers made multiple roster moves on Tuesday, including placing offensive lineman Nate Herbig on the Reserve/Injured List.

The team also signed defensive lineman Marcus Haynes and linebacker Kyahva Tezino.

Haynes originally signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent part of the season on the Broncos practice squad. He also spent time with the Cleveland Browns during training camp.

Unfortunately, this was a predictable outcome for Herbig as time had passed since his injury on the final day of training camp. Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette first reported that Herbig suffered the torn rotator cuff, an injury that typically sidelines players for a whole season.

But what Dulac also shared, is that rookie center Zach Frazier is held in high regard by the Steelers and is ready to take on a starting role:

"He's [Zach Frazier] been very impressive," Dulac told DVE radio ahead of Saturday's game. "He looked very good last week, and it was only going to be a matter of time. He probably would've been there in the starting lineup in Atlanta, but that has been cemented now."

Pittsburgh drafted Frazier to be their center of the future, but he will now be the center of the present.
