Just when you thought the Pittsburgh Steelers dodged a major bullet with QB Kenny Pickett, another one hit them square in the chest.

Per Jordan Schultz, Pittsburgh is prepared to be without tight end Pat Freiermuth for multiple games:

What It Means

In the immediate, the Ravens game on Sunday has become that much harder, as Pittsburgh could be down as many as five offensive starters if Pickett, Moore and Daniels are out along with Muth and Diontae Johnson.

Pittsburgh drafted Darnell Washington for this exact reason, as he is a solid depth piece that honestly was outperforming Muth as a blocker recently.

That being said, Washington is not the receiver that Freiermth is, meaning an pedestrian Pittsburgh offense will be even less explosive in the coming weeks.

Don't rule out a possible surprise tomorrow on the waiver wire however, seeing as Zach Gentry is on the Bengals practice squad and could be a prime candidate to be added back to Pittsburgh, especially in light of their own recent release.
