It was supposed to be a joyride in the sky following a Pittsburgh Steelers prime-time win.

But then the team was thrown a curveball not even Barry Bonds could hit:

Updated Information:

Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, the Steelers plane underwent engine trouble, which is the reason they had to make a stop in Kansas City, where they currently sit. The plan is to have a plane ready for them by 12:30 p.m. ET, which will take them back to Pittsburgh for a week of prep before traveling to Houston to take on the Texans.

Multiple Pittsburgh media outlets reported that the plane landed at KCI Airport at 3:55 a.m. CT because of oil pressure failure in one of the engines. Fire trucks were at the scene inspecting the Airbus A330-900, according to Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA, which had a news crew aboard the plane. – ESPN

The good news is that no one is injured and Pittsburgh's entire staff arrived carefully. Hopefully, the players were able to catch some shut-eye, but at least they have a day off tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what Coach Tomlin says about the situation Tuesday.
