The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off the 2024 season in victorious fashion, winning 18-10 against the Atlanta Falcons on the road.

Far from pretty, the Steelers scored every point off field goals via Chris Boswell.

They even called upon the stalwart to punt the ball after revelation Cameron Johnston went down with what Mike Tomlin is calling a serious injury:

Cameron Johnston Believed to have Serious Knee Injury

"From a health standpoint, you know, Cam Johnston appears to have a serious injury, said Coach Tomlin after the game. "I'll have an update for you next time we come together. It's a shame for him, this guy has been spectacular man, and through team development. He's an absolute stud, not only in his talents, but his approach to business and so, you know, my heart goes out to him."

Seeking consistency at the punter position after the past two seasons, Pitssburgh thought they had their guy. Johnston was one of the better players in all of training camp. He could be seen bombing the football every day in Latrobe, making both hangtime and distance look easy.

An offseason acquisition in free agency, Johnston joined after spending last season with the Houston Texans.
