Russell Wilson has seemingly fallen out of favor with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was Mike Tomlin who brought him into Pittsburgh, and at this point, if he's going to stay, it's going to be because Mike Tomlin sticks his neck out for him.

Because according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Wilson is already being tied to another team and the Steelers might be fine with it…

Wilson has also been connected to the Giants by a few people this week. He visited with the Giants last free agency, and New York is on his radar as a potential option in 2025.

My sense coming out of New Orleans is that the door is open for a potential deal between the Steelers and free agent Justin Fields, but it would have to make sense for Fields, who, at this stage, will most likely want a more legitimate chance to start a full season.

The QB carousel is going round and round in Pittsburgh. As of now, the team has only one QB under contract for 2025, and while he once started a playoff game, it's unlikely that the Steelers will be looking to trot out Skylar Thompson in 2025.

So the leader in the doghouse in terms of a return is obviously Justin Fields. There are potential veteran targets like Sam Darnold, and as of Super Bowl Sunday, a potential first-ballot Hall of Famer with ties to the Steelers

Either way, the team is likely to look different at the top and in relation to who runs out of the tunnel first come Week 1 of the 2025 season. Oh, and don't forget that the 2025 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and drafting a QB can never be ruled out.
