The 2025 NFL Draft is just now in the rearview, but the team-building process never ends.

Steelers Select ASU QB Sam Leavitt 14th Overall in A to Z Sports Film Room 2026 Mock Draft
"Sam Leavitt would be my guy that's on this board that would make like, some sense. I'm not sitting here saying he's going to be a top 15 NFL draft pick. But out of the options we have, [he's one of the] quarterbacks that [could] rise at least. He has some tools that you can kind of get behind, a little bit good athlete. He can pick up speed. He's un-orthodox as hell but yeah does have some tools to work with for sure.
– A to Z Sports Film Room
Leavitt is just a redshirt sophomore and is one of the most intriguing passers in next year's class. At 6-2, 210 pounds with a live arm and athleticism, he has a lot of the desirable traits that Pittsburgh will look for in their next franchise passer.
A transfer from Michigan State, Leavitt led the Arizona State Sun Devils to the College Football Playoff in his first season with the team, and he's headed back to do more. Playing in the BIG-12 isn't nearly as tough as the SEC or BIG-10, but Leavitt looked good against a Texas team that made it to the College Football Playoff semifinal.
If he can do it again, and even win a game despite playing for a program that was in turmoil less than two years ago, his intangible traits marked with his arm and mobility will intrigue multiple teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Aaron Rodgers (when he arrives) will be 42 years old during the season. He's not there for long, meaning a QB in 2026 is a given.
