Fautanu seeking a second opinion regarding knee injury
The primary concern with Fautanu out of college was his injury history, mainly surrounding a pair of knees that had him sliding down some team's boards. Those cropped up in the preseason when Fautanu was forced to miss the season opener as he rehabbed a sprained MCL.
He then made his first start last week against the Denver Broncos, with Broderick Jones heading to the bench after lackluster play and a series of actions in Denver that he will look to get past.
And while it seemed that it might take some time before Jones was inserted back into the lineup, that all changed with yesterday's injury report and the preset news.
For now, the details on which knee, the severity, and the timetable for return are all up in the air.
We'll monitor what comes of the second opinion and Coach Tomlin's remarks during his presser next week.
