ESPN insider says the one team that could lure Aaron Rodgers away from the Pittsburgh Steelers is no longer interested in him

If Aaron Rodgers had his way, he would have fulfilled the Brett Favre prophecy.
That is, going from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets to the Minnesota Vikings.
But according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, that ship has sailed…
Aaron Rodgers no longer in play for the Vikings
“The Minnesota Vikings, is [Rodgers] waiting them out? That is sort of a lingering question out there, but when I talked to people with the Vikings, this is all but dead for them, essentially,” Fowler recently said on SportsCenter. “Maybe if he’s available later in the summer, they would revisit, but just seems unlikely at this point. So it’s Steelers, retirement or bust.”
Minnesota offers a better situation than the Steelers, there is no questioning that. They are coming off a 14-win season, have one of the brightest offensive minds in the sport at head coach (who also happens to be a friend of Aaron Rodgers), and are littered with weapons for Rodgers to distribute to.
But they just spent premium draft capital on a rookie who has never played a meaningful down in the NFL via J.J. McCarthy. That led many to believe if they would simply give him the keys with such a ready-made roster, but that seems to be the case.
Oh, and as for retirement and Aaron Rodgers, you can probably count that out to….
“The Minnesota Vikings were very clear that Aaron Rodgers, as of right now, is not an option for them. They are moving full speed ahead with J.J. McCarthy. There are no other spots. So if Aaron Rodgers is going to play football in 2025, it is going to be for the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rapoport said on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.” “Lot of positive momentum with Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. It seems like that’s the most likely place, by far. He just hasn’t come out and said it yet. Meanwhile, the specter of possible retirement doesn’t seem likely.”
So the question of when is all that really remains. Six hour long meetings, throwing sessions with Steelers wide receivers, a mutual need between both parties. Aaron Rodgers will be a Steeler, it's just left up to him to decide when that will be.
