The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, shooting themselves in the foot and catching a few bad breaks along the way.
But as far as the run game was concerned, if it wasn't Justin Fields or Cordarellle Patterson, there was an obvious lack pf efficiency and explosion.
So following a game that saw RB Najee Harris average only 1.5 yards per carry and record 19 yards on the ground, one of the Colts' defenders had some choice words for Harris:
Zaire Franklin Calls out Najee Harris
After one of Franklin's Twitter followers commented that Harris had more fingers up at the camera than he did yards per carry (which is true) Colts LB Zaire Franklin quote tweeted the post, saying that Harris is soft and that Cordarrelle Patterson (#84) runs harder than him.
There is no greater insult in the game of football than being called soft, but the statement is dually disrespectful because all RBs want to be known as hard runners.
And while we can debate on Harris' value to the offense at this point, no one can debate that he's a hard runner. You're talking about a player who has never missed a game, and consistently falls forward on almost all of his carries.
But for Harris, he was clearly frustrated by his performance and the result of the game, taking an odd stance when asked about Justin Fields' late-game rally:
"I think we all showed ourselves, said Harris when asked about Fields' comeback ability in the postgame locker room. "I think we as a team showed what we can do. Not one player. Y'all always keep putting on one person. It's the whole team. All 11 of us. Stop making it one player. Y'all keep saying Justin as if he's the one throwing, catching and running like, come on bro. It's all of us. So what do we do? What did we see? I saw us all fight us as a team."
Needless to say, it was a day to forget for Harris, especially after the comments from Franklin.
