The noon games for Week 17 have come to an end and the Pittsburgh Steelers remain alive in their playoff hunt. But they still need more friendly combinations to play out, besides needing to win out, to make it to the postseason.

For now, the Steelers' bid for a playoff berth in the AFC got stronger following the Miami Dolphins' loss to the New England Patriots, one of the most complicated results required for Pittsburgh to advance considering the Patriots' struggling offense.

The Dolphins fell to the Patriots 23-21 in a game started by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and finished by rookie Skylar Thompson.

What's next in Week 17?

On Sunday, the Steelers need the Seattle Seahawks to beat the New York Jets. Otherwise, they'd be eliminated before their primetime match-up against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Jets will be starting Mike White at quarterback, who's done a way better job for New York than former first-round pick Zach Wilson.

The Steelers will have to take care of business against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night. They're three-point underdogs against backup QB Tyler Huntley after losing 16-14 in the first meeting against their division rival.

It will be a game about running well and stopping the run, an area where Pittsburgh has significantly improved in over the last couple of weeks.

What Steelers need to make it to the playoffs

  • Steelers win out (@ BAL, vs CLE)
  • Dolphins loss (vs NYJ)
  • Jets loss @ SEA (Week 17)
  • Patriots loss @ BUF (Week 18)
