Per multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers are making an addition and subtraction to their offseason roster by signing linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski, and releasing wide receiver Anthony Miller.
Kwiatkoski was brought for a workout last week, and becomes the latest addition to Pittsburgh's revamped linebacker room.
Kwiatkoski is entering his eighth year in the league at 30 years of age. He last played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2022, appearing in 12 games exclusively as a special teams contributor. Prior to last season, he started in 34 career games for the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders.
The Bears selected him in the fourth round pick of the 2016 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, but the former Mountaineer's origins take even closer to the Steelers. Kwiatkoski hails from Bethel Park, PA, mere miles south of downtown Pittsburgh.
With the signing official, the Steeler have successfully redone 80% of their linebacking corps from last year. They've also added Cole Holcomb, Elandon Roberts, and Tanner Muse in free agency.
As for Miller, it's a shame he couldn't stick around at receiver. His career started off so strong with the Chicago Bears, hauling in seven touchdowns and 457 yards a rookie back in 2018.
Miller originally joined the Steelers during the 2021 season and played in just one game. He missed the entire 2022 campaign with a shoulder injury, but was signed back on a futures deal in the offseason.
Now 28 years old, the former third-round pick will look to land elsewhere before the season begins.
