One of the best solutions for Steelers' problem is officially off the table

It seems like the Pittsburgh Steelers officially know they're betting on quarterback Kenny Pickett for the future. Currently projected to pick 13th in next year's NFL Draft, chances are there won't be a "you-have-to-take-him" prospect available at quarterback when they're on the clock.
Considering they likely know they've got their guy, the Steelers need to do right by him. He's got weapons alright. At wide receiver, tight end, and cornerback, there are not a lot of question marks.
But Pittsburgh needs some offensive line help for the future. Dan Moore Jr. and Chukwuma Okorafor are easily upgradable players at offensive tackle. And while the front office has invested in their interior offensive line, it's yet to pay significant dividends.
Pickett deserves help upfront. One of the best potential solutions for the Steelers offensive line problems is officially off the table following the latest news in the NFL.
The Green Bay Packers extended offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, taking one of next year's top free agents out of reach.
Although the Steelers are not known as big spenders in free agency, Jenkins would've HAD to be on their radar as he provides tremendous versatilty as a player who can man the guard or tackle positions.
The Cleveland Browns also removed Jack Conklin off of the "top free agent" rankings by extending the right tackle for four years.
There are still offensive linemen that the Steelers could be interested in next offseason, especially if they want to avoid forcing a pick in the first round out of need next April.
This is an area where the Steelers really need to consider being more proactive in. Allow Kenny Pickett to work under the best-case scenario as he continues to develop as a promising but unpolished quarterback.
In the meantime, one of the best players who could've been an immediate answer isn't an option any longer.
