Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward made a funny comment this week about quarterback Kenny Pickett that had a hint of seriousness.

The three-time Pro Bowler joined the 3 and Out podcast and he spoke about Pickett's impressive fourth quarter comebacks as a rookie in 2022.

Heyward praised Pickett for staying composed when things weren't going his way, before suggesting that the former first round pick shouldn't wait until the fourth quarter in 2023 to get going.

"If you look at December and January, anytime it wasn't going his way, it never felt like he was out of sorts, or it felt like the moment was too big for him," said Heyward. "You could look at the Baltimore game and, you know, I don't think they've given up a score in the fourth quarter for some like amount of quarters, which was crazy. He goes down and puts together a drive and you just see here; there it wasn't just one person. He was feeding everybody."

"Then you look at that Christmas game versus the Raiders and that was a little bit of the same," added Heyward. "Every time we've needed a big drive at the end of a game, he was able to answer the call and answer the bell. I just look forward to him not waiting for the fourth quarter, let's get off the bus doing that. I think we'll have a lot more success that way."

Pickett might be the biggest story in the NFL this offseason that no one (at least nationally) is talking about. All the talk when it comes to quarterbacks centers on Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, and even guys like Derek Carr and Justin Fields. Pickett, meanwhile, is coming off an impressive rookie season where he helped rally Pittsburgh to their 19th straight non-losing season. And it seems like no one is paying a bit of attention to him this offseason.

Pickett is hoping to take a major step forward in 2023. If he successfully builds on his solid rookie season, Pickett could be the next superstar quarterback in the NFL.
