On what has been a jam-packed afternoon for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the moves keep coming.

Per Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, the Steelers are signing former Super Bowl champion WR Van Jefferson:

What it means

Jefferson was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Las Angeles Rams, serving as the team's X WR and vertical threat during a Super Bowl run that was highlighted by Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and then Odell Beckham Jr.

And while he hasn't made himself into a bonified top-two option in any WR corps, Jefferson will replace what the Steelers lost in Allen Robinson, while creating a more dynamic element in a younger body at only 27 years old.

This move is purely for depth and will have little impact on one of the Steelers' top remaining WR targets, and even less of an impact on who and where the Steelers select a WR in April's draft.

For his career, Jefferson has 113 receptions for 1600 yards and 10 TDs, averaging an impressive 14.2 yards per catch.
